Parish Choir

The choir of Our Lord Christ the King Church provides musical leadership weekly at the 9 AM Sunday Mass from the first Sunday following Labor Day in September through the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. The choir also sings for liturgies at Christmas, Holy Week and Easter, and for parish sacramental celebrations of First Eucharist and Confirmation at the Cathedral Basilica.

The choir sings a wide variety of repertoire from the Church’s sacred treasury of music throughout the centuries, ranging from chant and polyphony (in Latin and English) to contemporary choral works.  All adults capable of matching pitch are urged to contact Michael Dailey by phone at (513) 898-9687 or by e-mail at dailey_m@olctk.org. No formal training is required to join the choir.

Parish Schola

The parish schola is a small group of professionally trained singers who serve in several roles. Schola members provide sectional support on a weekly basis in the parish choir, and they also serve as psalmists and cantors at Masses, liturgies, weddings, and funerals year-round.

Director of Music

Michael Dailey has served as Director of Music at Our Lord Christ the King since 2017. He plays the organ and piano and directs the choir & schola at most weekend masses. He also provides organ and piano accompaniment at Masses and liturgies celebrated with Cardinal Pacelli school and the school music program led by Rebecca Longberry.

A native of Utah, Michael Dailey earned a degree in Organ Performance from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He then moved to Cincinnati and served for fifteen years as Pastoral Musician at St. John the Evangelist Church in West Chester, where he led a comprehensive music program with adult choir, youth chorus, high school choir, contemporary ensemble, parish orchestra, and handbell choir. He also established a concert series that featured the Cincinnati Boychoir, chamber ensembles from around the Cincinnati-Dayton area, and local and international organists playing the church’s Hook & Hastings pipe organ.

Dailey is currently completing a Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), studying with Michael Unger, Roberta Gary, and Brenda Portman.
