Confirmations for Youth take place every other year for our students in grades 7 and 8.
Important Information
Confirmation requires 2 years of preparation.
Students at Cardinal Pacelli will be prepared in their regular Religion classes, and other youth who plan to be Confirmed through Riverview Catholics Parishes should contact Mrs. Emily Daley

SUNDAY MASS:
All Candidates are expected to attend Sunday Mass. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic Faith, and we are called to be present for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass every Sunday. Attendance at any Catholic Mass between Saturday at 3:00pm – or anytime on Sunday fulfills this obligation.
SERVICE:
Service hours are not required for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Sacraments are gifts freely given by God. Service hours will be required as part of the Religion curriculum. Each candidate serves their families, in their parish, and in the community.
RETREAT/SPIRITUALITY:
Each Candidate must participate in spiritual activities outside of Sunday Mass. The Candidate will be able to choose from a variety of retreats and/or Catholic prayer experiences or enrichment.
SPONSORS:
Sponsor must be 16 years of age, a Catholic who has received Confirmation and Eucharist and is practicing the faith and not be bound by any canonical penalty (i.e. may not be divorced and remarried without an annulment). Sponsor may not be the father or mother of the one to be confirmed. Your child will be choosing a Sponsor by mid-November.
*Sponsors must be practicing Catholics and will complete a form which requires the signature of their Pastor.
*Confirmands will be attending a few Sunday Masses with his/her Sponsor (or a proxy) and reflecting in a Journal.

PASTOR APPROVAL:
Confirmands will be interviewed by the Pastor or Parochial Vicar prior to Confirmation.
